About this policy
This policy explains what information Pets Bazar collects when you use the website at pets-bazar.com or the Pets Bazar mobile app, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. Pets Bazar is operated from Pakistan.
The short version: we collect what we need to run a pet classifieds marketplace and a shop checkout, we show other users only what they need to buy from or sell to you, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
When you use Pets Bazar, you give us some information directly:
- Account details: your name, email address and password, and optionally your phone number, city and profile photo. Your password is stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, never as plain text
- If you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile photo Google shares with us
- Ads you post: the title, description, price, category, breed, age, city, photos and other details you enter
- Messages you send to other users through Pets Bazar chat, and offers you make or answer
- Reviews you leave on sellers, shops and clinics, reports you submit about ads, and ads you save as favourites
- For Cash-on-Delivery shop orders: the recipient name, phone number, delivery address and city, and any note you add for the shop
- For shop and clinic pages: the business details submitted with the application
- Anything you include when you email us
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information when you use Pets Bazar, such as your IP address, browser or device type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site running, to limit abuse such as automated scraping, and to investigate problems.
We also record how many times each ad has been viewed, which is shown on the ad, and when your account was last active.
Your location
Pets Bazar can show you ads near you. If you choose to search nearby, your browser or phone will ask for permission to share your location, and we use it for that search. If you decline, or location is not available, we may estimate your approximate city from your IP address using an IP location service. You can always search by choosing a city yourself instead.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and run your account and let you sign in
- Publish your ads and show them to buyers
- Deliver messages and offers between buyers and sellers, and send you notifications about them
- Pass order and delivery details to the shop fulfilling a Cash-on-Delivery order
- Show search results, including results near you
- Review reports, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
- Reply to you when you contact us
- Keep Pets Bazar secure and working properly
What other users can see
Your ads are public. Anyone can see an ad's photos, description, price and city, along with your name as the seller and whether your account has a Verified badge. Your public seller profile shows your name, profile photo, city, when you joined, your active ads and reviews other users have left for you.
If you add a phone number to your account, it is shown on your ads only to users who are signed in, not to anonymous visitors. Your email address is not shown to other users. Messages are visible to you and the person you are talking to. Reviews you leave on a seller, shop or clinic are shown publicly with your name.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only in these cases:
- With other users, as described above
- With a shop, when you place a Cash-on-Delivery order with it, so it can deliver your order
- With service providers who help us run Pets Bazar, such as our hosting provider, the service that stores and serves photos, Google if you use Google sign-in, and the IP location service, only for the work they do for us
- When the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect the safety of our users, the public or Pets Bazar, for example in a fraud investigation
Messages
Messages are stored on our servers so that both people in a conversation can read them. We do not read messages routinely. We may review them when investigating a report of fraud or abuse, or when the law requires it. Please do not share passwords, bank details or card numbers in chat.
Cookies
Pets Bazar uses cookies that are needed for the site to work, mainly to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. The mobile app uses a secure sign-in token for the same purpose.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Ads that have sold or expired may stay visible as a sold or unavailable page, without the seller's contact details, and remain in your dashboard. If your account is closed, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent fraud, for example records of a banned account.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and your ads, and take ads down, at any time from your account. To get a copy of your personal information, correct something you cannot edit yourself, or close your account and have your information deleted, email support@pets-bazar.com from the address linked to your account.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and limits on how often sensitive information such as phone numbers can be requested. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
Children
Pets Bazar is not intended for children under 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information without that involvement, email us and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Pets Bazar changes. If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to let users know. For any question about your privacy, email support@pets-bazar.com.
